Starting a New Club:
Step 1: Create a Constitution
A constitution should outline the mandate and goals of your group and how the group will operate. This may include elections, roles of the executive and other processes vital to the groups operation. Ensure the constitution is in accordance with Section 2 of the UNBSU Clubs and Societies Policy. Below are guiding documents that can help in creating your constitution.

Step 2: Fill out the Ratification Form
This form is to be used by new clubs or societies that have never been ratified or recognized under the UNBSU, or for previous clubs and societies that have lost their status and would like to reapply for ratification status under the UNBSU.
In order to successfully be ratified, your club/society constitution and information must be reviewed and approved by the UNBSU council, which will occur at a council meeting 4 times a year. As such, you will have 4 opportunities to have your request reviewed, and the deadlines to submit your information are as follows:
Sunday September 14th, at 11:59pm
Sunday November 9th, at 11:59pm
Sunday January 18th, at 11:59pm
Sunday March 15th, at 11:59pm
Fill out the form here.
Step 3: Become Ratified by Council
As per the UNBSU Clubs and Societies Policy, any new group must be approved by a majority vote at council in order to become ratified. The VP Finance and Operations will present the new group to council to be voted upon. Members of the group’s executive are welcome to attend council and help present to council.
