Student Union Committees are comprised of members of our Executive, Council, and the student body. They provide guidance to the UNBSU on important issues to ensure the successful operation of our advocacy, services, events, and governance. Committee name
This committee coordinates the activities of the UNBSU with respect to provincial and federal government lobbying and charitable or community interests; makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to any external interests of UNB/UNBSU; and develops and advises on internal projects that address issues relevant to UNB students.
This committee develops recommendations for the creation of, or changes to, new or existing academic policies, regulations, or programming, such as academic assistance programs and programs to inform students of their academic rights and responsibilities.
This committee fulfills and upholds the Financial Policies of the UNBSU; reviews and makes recommendations on the UNBSU Operating Budget before presentation to Council; oversees Clubs & Societies funding requests and keeps accurate records of funding granted; and reviews submissions for ratification/recognition requests for Clubs & Societies.
This committee monitors and makes recommendations to Council with respect to the operation and delivery of UNBSU services and events; advises on the implementation of potential new services and events; makes recommendations to Council with respect to the appointment of UNBSU Life Members and Honorary Members; and advises on the process and selection of internal UNBSU awards.
This committee hears, reviews, and provides written recommendation from/to Council regarding any matter of disputed interpretation of the UNBSU Bylaws; writes and/or revises any UNBSU document or policy that is mandated by Council; and brings recommendations to Council for new policies, or changes to existing ones.
